What well-known books and poems romanticize a rural environment or life in the countryside?

I'm doing a project on pastoral tradition for English, and I need a few ideas for works to use as points of reference. Preferably from a range of eras and authors. A small number of works that in some way refute the idea of pastoral tradition and nature as comforting would be great too ^^
