Just a simple question why are people open minded about but in sports u can call someone gay..?

Hey, I was intramural badminton champion 3 years running, captain of the volleyball team 2 years, second in archery 4 years ( I kept losing to a straight woman, and damn was she good), and unbeatable in both foosball and spades.I beat out all kinds of straight people and half of them were starters for the basketball team.
